Celebrating National Safety Month: Our Commitment to Safety

June is National Safety Month, as declared by the National Safety Council, and it’s an ideal time to celebrate our dedication to ensuring a safe workplace.

Safety is not just a priority; it’s ingrained in Hoover’s company culture because we genuinely value the well-being of our employees. Ensuring that each team member can perform their duties in a safe environment is at the heart of everything we do.

Safety is deeply intertwined with our core values: “Be humble. Get it Done, Right. Serve Each Other, Serve our Customers.” These values guide us in creating a workplace where safety is second nature.

  • Be Humble: We acknowledge that safety is a collective responsibility. Every team member plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Get it Done, Right: We are committed to executing tasks correctly the first time, particularly when it involves safety procedures and protocols.
  • Serve Each Other, Serve our Customers: Our commitment to safety reflects our dedication to looking out for one another and ensuring that everyone returns home safely every day.

Our efforts to improve safety have yielded impressive results. Moreover, four of our plants reported ZERO incidents for the entire year. These achievements highlight our dedication to maintaining a safe working environment.

To sustain and build on our success, we’ve introduced several new safety resources in 2024:

  • Safety Training Videos: These 5–7-minute videos cover essential safety practices and help both new and current employees understand job hazards and how to address them.
  • Improved Equipment: We’ve rolled out durable Impact Level I gloves for stacker laborers, designed to prevent hand injuries and last longer.
  • PPE Vending Machines: All plants are now equipped with vending machines stocked with essential PPE, ensuring easy access to safety gear.
  • Proper Footwear: Through the Shoes for Crews program, we provide annually to each employee for safety shoes, emphasizing the importance of proper footwear.

Our approach to safety is not just about compliance; it’s about creating a culture where every employee feels valued and protected. As we celebrate National Safety Month, we take pride in our achievements and we reaffirm our commitment to safety. We continue to make our workplace safer and ensure that everyone thrives in a secure environment.
