UL Tests Result in GreenGuard and GreenGuard Gold Certifications for PyroGuard™

Certification allows PyroGuard users to breathe easier!

PyroGuard treatment has earned UL’s GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD GOLD Certifications. Recognized and referenced by over 400 codes, rating systems, and procurement policies worldwide, GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD GOLD Certifications require that products meet some of the world’s most rigorous and comprehensive limits for low emissions of volatile organic compounds into indoor environments.

Using dynamic environmental chamber testing, PyroGuard was tested for volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including formaldehyde, and over 300 other VOCs with health-based limits. GREENGUARD-Certified PyroGuardand GREENGUARD GOLD-Certified PyroGuard aid in the creation of healthier indoor environments because they are now shown to release fewer pollutants that can contribute to health issues including asthma and other respiratory issues.

GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD GOLD Certifications are just some of Hoover’s many ways of leading the industry. Another example includes the recent NFPA 285 listing by UL for an exterior wall system (EWS) containing pressure-impregnated fire-retardant-treated wood. Promulgated as UL System No. EWS0045, it is the first and only fire-retardant-treated wood system to be tested by UL for both the vertical and lateral flame propagation requirements of the International Building Code. This system requires the use of Hoover’s PyroGuard fire-retardant-treated lumber and plywood and makes the plan approval process for Type I, II, and III construction quicker and easier for architects.
