Congrats to Jim Gogolski: OBOA Associate Member of the Year Award

We’re excited to congratulate Jim Gogolski, Hoover’s own Architectural and Code Specialist, for being named the Associate Member of the Year by the Ohio Building Officials Association (OBOA). Jim received this honor at the OBOA’s annual banquet, and it’s a wonderful recognition of his many years of dedication to building safety and code education.

Jim Gogolski Wins OBOA Associate Member of the Year

With 13 years at Hoover, Jim has become an invaluable part of our team, known for his dedication to educating customers, code officials, architects, and others across the country about important developments in building codes, fire-retardant-treated wood (FRTW) history and applications, and new products and techniques.

Jim’s relationship with OBOA goes back nearly 50 years. He first started presenting at their annual and regional meetings in 1976 when he was with the Southern Forest Products Association (SFPA). Even after moving across the country with SFPA and later joining the APA – The Engineered Wood Association, Jim continued showing up for OBOA, sharing his insights and expertise on building codes and compliance.

After receiving the award, Jim shared, “I was surprised, humbled, and honored. The officers told me they appreciated my long-term dedication to presenting programs and participating with their association, and they wanted to recognize my efforts.”

We’re thrilled to see Jim’s impact on the architectural and building community celebrated in this way. His commitment to sharing knowledge and advancing safety standards is a big part of what we strive for at Hoover, and we’re proud to have him on our team.

Please join us in congratulating Jim on this well-deserved honor. It’s a testament not only to his expertise but also to the passion he brings to his work every day. Congratulations, Jim!
